Keeping it short and simple this week, so enjoy all the photos. Sister Hansen and I made the trip to Berlin for the Christmas Conference. It took us 6 hours by train which meant we got to sleep over in Tiergarten. Berlin is so different during Christmas. There were giant Christmas Markets on every street corner and colored lights like America! It was also incredibly warm and I didn’t wear a jacket the whole time. We kept calling it our Winter Getaway. I think the trip made me bankrupt though….we found the local Primark. (Hannah and Sar, I now understand your London life.)
It was great to see a lot of familar faces there. Elder Ashmead told me that he got stuck in an elevator for 2 hours. He finally was able to crawl out, but had to wait until his companion could get out because the elevator was kind of sketch. He showed me lots of pictures from the experience and let’s just say, I am super grateful for my flat in Schwarzenberg.
Hmmm…. what else to report? Sister Hansen bought a Dirndl and wore it for the conference. It was adorable to say the least! It’s on my to buy list, but first I need to get rid of some holiday weight. I can’t help that everyone wants to feed us Rouladen and Klösse. (See the picture of the food I made at Fr.G’s house. Food coma, right?!)
Our investigators are keeping very busy during the holiday season, but I can’t blame them. I was once a normal person to. Haha. I love the feeling of Christmas around the world. I am so grateful to know that Jesus came to this earth for each one of us. May we all remember that this week is my wish.
Until next week,
Sister Helzer
P.S. My dear finnish friend Ville got his call to THE CZECH REPUBLIC!
