Alright, enough biblical talk. Here’s what really happened: we had a ward activity on Saturday to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our ward building’s dedication. When we walked into the church, a member came running up to us saying ‘Sisters! Sisters! There is someone here who wants to be baptized! She’s from New Zealand. Come at once!’ The member introduced us to Anja and Christina, two bomb dot com investigators of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They are originally from Germany, but moved to New Zealand for work and there they met the Sisters. They loved the gospel from the getgo (gecko?) but they wanted to be baptized back at home, in Germany. Three days ago they moved back here and want to know when they can enter into the waters of baptism.
Anja and Christina are solid! golden! miracle children! Anja has the strongest testimony of the Book of Mormon. She raved on and on about how it can answer any and all questions. She even told her boss that he didn’t need to invest millions of dollars in books, he could find all his business answers in the Book of Mormon. I have only met with them twice, but my love for Anja and Christina is overwhelming.
Even more overwhelming is my love for the Savior. Only through our faith in him can we be a part of modern-day miracles:
”Have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men (or sisters in chemnitz)? Or has he withheld the power of the Holy Ghost from them? Or will he, so long as time shall last,or the earth shall stand, or there shall be one man upon the face thereof to be saved?
Behold I say unto you, Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men; wherefore, if these things have ceased wobe unto the children of men, for it is because of unbelief, and all is vain.” (Moroni 7:36-37)
I love being a missionary and being a part of the Lord’s miraculous work. I may have lost my english spelling abilities, any rock climbing muscle, and a few fun opportunities at home, but I have gained so much more here! First and foremost, I have gained a deep testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Only second to that would be the love I have gained out here. and third would probably be all the weight I have gained due to german chocolate.
Thank you for reading. Comments? Questions? Concerns? Send it to Zoom!
